A TALE OF TWO SWEEPS

Thank God the White Sox are leaving Boston!
Those weasels won again!! A freakin' sweep!!!
Chicago won 7-4 after Paul Konerko took a Jonathan Papelbon fastball DEEP for a two-run 'tater in the 9th inning.
Konerko's homer was the 377th of his career. He's now tied with Jeff Kent and Stormin' Norman Cash for 64th place all-time!




Nextup: The White Sox host the Tigers for a 3-game series.
Game 1 is Friday night - 8:10 PM at U.S. Cellular Field.
The Red Sox host the Oakland A's for a 3-game series beginning Friday night - 7:10 PM at Fenway.

Meanwhile, another sweep was goin' on in the Motor City!
The Tigers swept the Minnesota Twins, winning the third game 4-2.
The Twins have lost 10 of their last 12, falling to 17-37 for the worst record in baseball.
Rick Porcello pitched 6 2/3 innings, gave up 6 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks and notched 4 strikeouts.
The Baby-Faced Assassin hit a 3-run dinger too...



Magglio Ordonez is scheduled to join Triple-A Toledo for an open-ended rehab assignment Friday. Ordonez has been on the DL since May 11 because of weakness in his surgically repaired right ankle.
Phil Coke, who has been on the DL with a bruised right foot, is scheduled to start Wednesday against the Texas Rangers.
