THE DRAFT & A MARISA MILLER MOTORBOAT

Holy Smokes! The Tigers beat the Texas Rangers 13-7.
Max Scherzer FINALLY got his seventh win!
Brennan Boesch went 5-for-6 with 2 homers and 5 RBIs.
Andy Dirks and Alex Avila went YARD too.

MLB Draft 2011 is upon us!
The Tigers didn't have a 1st-round pick this year. They gave up the 19th overall selection to the Red Sox as compensation for signing free agent Victor Martinez.
Detroit's first choice(2nd-round, 76th overall) was 6-foot-2, 210 lb. Arkansas junior catcher James McCann. McCann hit .306 in 61 games this season, with 14 doubles, six home runs, 11 stolen bases, 38 RBIs and 35 runs. He was a semifinalist for the Johnny Bench Award, which honour's college baseball's top catcher.

The 1st-round draft choice that Detroit gave Boston was used to pickup
6-foot-4, 210 lb. University of Connecticut junior righthander Matt Barnes. Barnes has an 11-4 record with a 1.61 earned run average in 16 starts for the Huskies. Last summer he went 3-0 with a 1.42 ERA in four games for Team USA. His fastball sits around 94-95 MPH but has registered 98 MPH.

Red Sox vs Yankees tonight at 7:05 PM in NY.
